Well, what a summer it has been so far. I mean, we’ve actually had sun and been able to plan days out that hasn’t been rained off. With all this nice weather it has meant we’ve been able to expand our wardrobes with some nice summer clothing. So when Jacamo approached me asking if I’d like to dress my husband for the summer I was more than happy to give it a go.
Styling My Man
Having been with Aaron for almost 13 years, I’m a pretty good judge about what he likes to wear and his style of clothing. Like me, he likes clothes that have flexibility so can be worn in a range of different ways and for different situations. With that in mind, here are the clothes I picked for him.
On His Bottom Half
With it being so warm I’ve thrown long length jeans and trousers out of the window and opted for these lovely black cargo shorts. They’re comfortable with a zip fly and belt, practical with plenty of pocket space and as you can see in the photos, can be teamed with a casual t-shirt or slightly more smart with a shirt – or both.
I also picked these grey trainers which he has reported as being super comfy. The colour and style mean they can be worn with multiple outfits. They are lace up but Aaron likes to hide his lace rather than having them hanging out.
Shirt Number One
Aaron is a fan of shirts, especially being able to team a shirt with a t-shirt underneath so I kept that in mind when I picked this black shirt. What I loved about this shirt is that it is a “muscle fit” so has a little extra flexibility around the arms to account for his biceps. It’s also a long shirt so he has the option of keeping it out or tucking it in.
I teamed this with the cargo shorts and trainers mentioned above as well as a Mario t-shirt we already had (Primark). This look is very Aaron. He can remove the Mario shirt and choose to wear the shirt as a smart shirt either with the shorts or a longer pair of jeans/trousers.
One thing I will say about this shirt is it’s a little on the smaller size side. Both shirts were ordered in the same size but this one was slightly more snug than the second one.
Shirt Number Two
Aaron was really impressed with this red and navy shirt. He complimented how comfortable it was to wear and how well it fit, I was impressed with how easy it was to iron. What I liked about this shirt is that, again, it is such a flexible shirt it can be worn casually like below with the shorts and trainers or it can be worn as part of a smarter outfit (trousers for example).
Clothes For All Seasons
While the looks I went for are very much summer looks, they can also be used throughout the year. The shorts make a great addition to a spring wardrobe when the weather starts to warm up, plus Aaron’s job has him working in VERY hot rooms so he tends to wear shorts for longer periods than he normally would.
Both shirts can be worn all year round with a jacket, a coat or even cardigan over the top for the added warmth. And obviously, the trainers can be worn throughout the year.
The total cost of the two shirts, shorts and trainers was £102. Both shirts were ordered in an XL (available in S to 5XL), the shorts are a 36″ waist (available in 34″ to 54″) and the trainers are a 12 (available in size 7 to 12).
The overall quality of the clothing is great and I can see these lasting at least until the end of next summer, so he’ll get a lot of wear out of them.
