I’m stupidly excited for Christmas this year, I’m hoping to be spending it in a new house which means I can buy loads of new decorations. Last year we got one of those slimline “modern trees” in black because we thought it would look great in our current living room – that tree is going to Daddy-In-Law this year. The Best Christmas Cake Recipe

I’ve made this cake many, MANY times and it is by far the best tasting Christmas cake I’ve ever eaten. I always make it during September to give the cake enough time to mature and so it gets a good soaking of brandy but you can make it closer to Christmas if you don’t want it boozy. You can either eat this cake naked, decorated with almonds or go all out by cover it in marzipan and royal icing – I do this during Christmas week, or at least a few days before. So here it is, the best Christmas cake recipe.
